The ballot measure that would take a step toward repealing 'The People's Ordinance' trash collection model in the city of San Diego appears to have passed by a margin of fewer than 3,000 votes.

SAN DIEGO - The ballot measure that would take a step toward repealing"The People's Ordinance" trash collection model in the city of San Diego appears to have passed Thursday by a margin of fewer than 3,000 votes.

Such a fee would require a study to determine the city's costs to provide the services, as well as City Council approval.The county Registrar of Voters estimated Wednesday that there were still 15,000 ballots to be counted, although it is unclear how many were from the city of San Diego.
