slid into Ling’s DMs about a special project involving J Lo. Initially, the stylists requested only a black ensemble from the brand’s second collection for a shoot, but Lopez fell in love with the look so much that she had to make a custom order for the same pieces in white. The look was then seen on the singer’s live performance with Maluma on. “It was a pleasant surprise to have my work recognized by such a huge star,” says Ling.
Having then graduated from Parsons andin 2020, and launching her brand the same year—as well as cutting her teeth at labels like The Row and Thom Browne previously—the designer knows a thing or two about clothes making. But, what sets Ling apart is her ability to place 3D printing, CAD and CGI at the core of her practice whilst maintaining a minimalist-chic aesthetic. “These digital processes lead me to create unique forms,” the designer explains.
