Players for the women’s national soccer team say they’re ready for a jury trial in their dispute with the U.S. Soccer Federation over equal pay.
“We did have a lot of faith and hope and we were very optimistic that we could come together and get to a better place,” Rapinoe said of entering mediation. “But unfortunately we’re here.” The federation added: “We value our players, and have continually shown that, by providing them with compensation and support that exceeds any other women’s team in the world.”The players said Thursday that they insist on being shown their value in a very specific way.
