Two East Bay men are facing prison time after pleading guilty to robbing several San Francisco retail shops as part of an organized retail theft ring.
"By employing a consistent brazen theft strategy, Belvine-Brown, Simon and others entered the store as a group, rapidly grabbed numerous expensive sunglasses from display shelves, and quickly exited the store and got in an awaiting car," the SFDA's office said in a statement. 23-year-old Ahjanae Woods and 28-year-old Terry Nichols were arrested on Oct. 12 after they allegedly fled from a getaway vehicle that crashed after it sped away from the boutique at the corner of Post Street and Grant Avenue, the SFPD reported. Officers responded to the scene that morning after a witness reported three vehicles had stopped in front of Christian Dior store and that one of the vehicles had crashed through the storefront windows and security gate.
