Metallica will celebrate their 40th anniversary with two special shows at the Chase Center in San Francisco on Dec. 17 and 19.

According to a statement, the hometown shows will find the group playing two different set lists, with tickets available only to registered members of Metallica's Fifth Member fan club.
The gigs will mark the band's return to the 18,000-capacity Chase Center for the first time since their September 2019 S&M2 shows, which doubled as the venue's grand opening. In addition to the concerts, Metallica will be curating other live music and comedy events, tastings of their signature Blackened Whiskey products and more events around the city during the four-day blowout weekend that will kick off on Dec. 16.
