MEXICO CITY—Mexico’s government is resisting implementing strong measures to slow the spread of the novel coronavirus, even as President Trump said Wednesday that he would block the entry of asylum seekers and ban nonessential travel across the U.S.-Mexico border.
On Wednesday morning, Mexican President Andrés Manuel López Obrador said he wouldn’t close airports, shut down businesses or take other steps that might damage the economy.
