Connor Stalions, a Michigan native and longtime superfan, has been named a “person of interest” in the investigation, according to ESPN.

“He quickly befriended the assistant coaches and gained their trust because he was willing to do any work,” according a January 2022on Stalions. He even went as far as purchasing a home near Detroit Metro Airport and renting out two bedrooms on Airbnb to help pay for his trips from California’s Camp Pendleton to Ann Arbor to volunteer.

This investigation comes in the middle of a separate NCAA investigation into the Michigan football program over several Level II violations, including impermissible recruiting during the pandemic dead period, using a separate, now-departed analyst as a coach during practices, and watching team workouts on video.
