This is Shiffrin's sixth and final event at the Beijing Olympics.
Updated 17 mins agoMikaela Shiffrin's Beijing journey moves on to the quarterfinals of the mixed team parallel event on Saturday night.
Shiffrin led off for the U.S. as they faced Slovakia in the opening round of 16. She got out to a strong start and maintained the lead over Rebeka Jancova to put her team up 1-0. Teammates River Radamus and Paula Moltzan both took care of business in the following two runs to secure an American victory.
The U.S. will return to the course at 8:40 p.m. EST to take on the winner of Germany and Sweden in the quarterfinals. This is Shiffrin's sixth and final event of the 2022 Olympics.
