At last night's MTV VMAs, Miley Cyrus gave her first live performance since announcing her breakup with husband Liam Hemsworth. She performed the song"Slide Away," which many think is inspired by the split. While that's noteworthy in and of itself, the singer also debuted some new ink that may be another clue into her current state of mind.
The tattoo is on Cyrus's left bicep and was visible thanks to the little black dress she wore for her emotional performance. “My head was feeling scared, but my heart was feeling free,” it reads. The lines, written in a scripted font, are lyrics from a song called"The Thing" by iconic alternative rock group the Pixies. People reports that it's the work of celebrity-favorite tattoo artist Winter Stone.

Ever-evolving, changing as partners and individuals, they have decided this is what’s best while they both focus on themselves and careers. They still remain dedicated parents to all of their animals they share while lovingly taking this time apart. Please respect their process and privacy.
