Jim Corman, president and CEO of uranium firm Orano Canada, said his company has the benefit of already having high-quality deposits of uranium in its portfolio. Orano will continue to hire as much as possible from the Indigenous communities near its sites in northern Saskatchewan, he added. “We’re operating in their traditional territory,” Corman said, noting it’s vital to be able to show a benefit for local communities.
