Officials say a man who went missing Wednesday after bear hunting in North Carolina's Pisgah National Forest has been found and taken to a trauma center.
by KRISTY KEPLEY-STEWARD and GRACEE MATTIACE | WLOS StaffOfficials say a man who went missing Wednesday night after bear hunting deep in North Carolina's Pisgah National Forest has been found with “serious injuries” and was airlifted to a hospital more than seven hours after search crews initially made contact with him.
Over 50 emergency personnel, multiple drones and local hunters searched throughout the night, and officials said they finally made verbal contact with the hunter at around 4 a.m. Thursday. A very steep area that had a number of rock cliffs. It took emergency responders an extended period of time," Kehler said just before noon. "Local state and federal agencies working to help extricate this patient ... Huge team effort going on right now.”
