A Missouri elementary school teacher last week discovered a loaded handgun in the tote bag of a five-year-old student, according to local reports.

The teacher found the gun around 8:45 a.m. at Principia Lower School in Town and Country, Mo., about a 20-minute drive west of St. Louis. "We wanted our parents to know that there was never a risk or a threat to any of our students or community members," Sorrels said.
