Police arrested the mother of a 5-year-old girl who her brought to an Alexandria hospital said the girl's neck was injured in an auto accident.
ALEXANDRIA, La. - The mother of a 5-year-old girl brought to an Alexandria hospital said the girl's neck was injured in an auto accident, but police now have arrested her on a second-degree murder charge.
The Alexandria Police Department was notified July 17 after medical personnel determined the girl, Audrey Lynn Chelette, was dead when she was brought to the emergency room. Anderson was booked into the Avoyelles Parish Detention Center after her arrest, then transferred to Alexandria Police Department headquarters for an interview. So far, she has no court dates scheduled."The release of information must be carefully restricted due to the sensitive nature of the crime," continues the release.
