2 moms who paid off more than $300,000 in debt share tips for not going into debt at Christmas.
Chonce Rhea, mom of a 9-year-old son, has been there and done that when it comes to overspending for Christmas.
Across the country, in California, Lauren Mochizuki, an emergency room nurse and mom of two, said she also had a Christmas awakening a few years ago when she and her husband accumulated more than $250,000 in debt. "It's helped me bring peace during what could be a stressful time," she said."And because we budget for Christmas throughout the year, we are able to still spend a good amount, which is OK because it’s one of our favorite times of the year."
She's created a Christmas savings tracker to help people track how they are reaching their Christmas savings goal. You can pick it up wherever you are in the savings process, or modify it to keep track of how much you're spending.
