Monsoon might bring lightning, flash floods Monday to eastern San Diego County [Breaking]
Monsoonal moisture from Baja California could spark lightning throughout San Diego County’s deserts — and possibly its mountains — on Monday, and generate heavy downpours of rain is some areas, according to the National Weather Service.
Forecasters say lightning is most likely to occur between noon and 7 p.m. on the eastern fringes of the county, near Interstate 8 and state Route 78.Forecasters say anyone who gets caught in a lightning storm while driving should stay in their car and make sure to close the windows to prevent lightning from entering the vehicle. Passengers should fold their hands in their lap to avoid touching metal.
