Monster High 2 premieres on October 5.
Summary SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT Monster High 2 takes place during the sophomore year at Monster High and follows up Monster High, which took place during the freshman year. The friendship of Clawdeen Wolf, Draculaura, and Frankie Stein is put to the test as they face bigger challenges than ever before including new students, new powers, and evolving friendships.
Adam Bonnett: I love going on social media and seeing the genuine passion that the diehard fans of Monster High have. People who grew up with it when they were kids, and then people who are new fans, and who've just recently discovered it. It's not just a movie. Todd directed something that really means something to the viewers. These characters seem to resonate in a way that is very, very personal. They're very protective. And very passionate.
Todd Holland: I keep saying, who doesn't feel like a misfit? Who doesn't feel like an outsider? Who is on the inside now? Is there an inside? I feel like we're all on the outside. So everybody feels like they need a place to belong. And this idea, it's like the theme song of Cheers. Sometimes you want to go where everybody knows your name. The thing about movies and TV, you get to hang out with the people you really wish you could hang out with.
Screen Rant: Speaking of the song and dance, those are still some of my favorite parts of the first one. Is there anything you can tease in terms of the musical numbers we are going to get in Monster High 2? Screen Rant: Well it made me cry the first time. Sounds like it will make me cry the second time, thanks to the cast being so amazing. Do you think they felt more comfortable bringing stuff to the table this time around?
