Andrea Kerins is charged with three counts of felony child neglect after her children were found by an officer in squalid conditions inside a minibus.
Mother Accused of Leaving Her Children Overnight in Florida Parking Lot While She Partied With a FriendA mother has been arrested on suspicion of neglect after allegedly leaving her three young children alone in a minibus overnight in Florida while she went to party with a friend.
While checking the vehicle, the officer found three children aged 3, 6, and 9 years old inside. The children told the officer that Kerins had left them there at around 9:00 p.m. the previous night and went out on a boat. Officers eventually found Kerins on a boat anchored just offshore. She had been smoking marijuana and told police that she intended to spend the night on the boat.Kerins was later charged with three counts of felony child neglect. Her children were also temporarily handed over to the Florida Department of Children and Families. She has since made her first appearance at the Pinellas County Courthouse via video.
Kerins is currently being held on a $30,000 bond. If she is freed, she will reportedly be limited to weekly supervised visits to her children, with any further visitation rights to be decided in a separate case.A mother is facing felony child neglect charges after leaving three young children alone in a minibus in Florida.
