The mother is being investigated for attempted murder, reports say., the alarming footage from Tashkent, Uzbekistan’s capital city, shows the mother dropping the child over the railing into a trench about 16 feet below, which houses a hulking brown bear.
The report said zookeepers then were able to “lure the beast into an indoor part of the cage” allowing staff to rescue the little girl.in the video six staff are seen running to the child’s aid, and she is carried away in the arms of one of the staff members. The Sun cited a zoo spokesperson who said the little girl, who is in the hospital, “suffered a concussion, cuts, and bruises” — injuries from her fall — “but not a single trace of wounds from the bear’s fangs or claws.” The spokesperson said the child was also experiencing “light shock.”
Reportedly, a case of attempted murder has been opened by police against the child’s mother who if convicted faces 15 years behind bars. According to witnesses, visitors and staff were helpless to stop the woman throwing the girl over the safety barrier, The Sun reported.“We are scared to even think how this would end if the bear were to react to the toddler as its prey,” the zoo spokesperson was quoted as saying.
