A motorcycle passenger was killed in a hit-and-run crash in Queens after the driver of the vehicle struck a pedestrian Monday.
The unidentified man was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver, instead of tending to his passenger or the pedestrian, reportedly fled on foot and abandoned the motorcycle, the friend, and any sense of responsibility. There are signs clearly stating that motorized or electric bikes, scooters and ATVs are not allowed on the boardwalk. Still, residents tell Eyewitness News reporter Lucy Yang that they see motorbikes revving it up here. It's a long, open, tempting stretch.
"It's terrible. Gotta make sure people with motorcycles don't come on the boardwalk," biker Jay Turner said. "I mean, it's reckless, dangerous." Turner cycles in the area every night during the summer. Except Monday night, his bike ride was cut short because of the deadly accident.----------
