Mount Union is headed to the Division III national title game in men's basketball.FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The Mount Union men’s basketball team is headed to the NCAA Division III national championship game for the first time in program history.

The Purple Raiders, ranked No. 3 in the country, came back from a big deficit and held off Wisconsin-Whitewater, 83-79, in the Final Four on Thursday night. Mount Union will play for the championship Saturday against second-ranked Christopher-Newport at 4:07 p.m. EDT.Senior Jeffery Mansfield knocked in 20 points, and Archbishop Hoban product Collen Gurley, also a senior, added 15.Wisconsin-Whitewater led 30-12 midway through the first half.

Mount Union closed within five points with just under 16 minutes left in the second half.
