The Free Man hosts fundraiser for local musician who was nearly killed by stray bullets

Cooper, a musician known as Chief Rebel, was seriously wounded as an innocent bystander during a shooting outside the venue on Super Bowl Sunday.
Cooper, who spent time on a ventilator, left the ICU on Friday, but he’s still “progressing slowly,” according to his father, Tony Cooper. “The Free Man will be 12 years old this year, and this was the first instance where anything like this has ever taken place,” Iglehart said. “The discrepancy there is that we were a casualty to whatever was happening outside; it wasn’t something that originated or took place in our venue,” Iglehart said. “Our staff wasn’t involved, but unfortunately, our staff was affected, and now the business is affected. This affects everyone’s livelihood.”
