A: It’s a small town, I didn’t know anything else. Everyone knows everything about you, but once I started to travel I realized how special our community really is and that not everyone does five sports in a day.A: The Olympics were never a dream, but they became a goal in 2001 at a World Cup in Chile. I saw everyone trying to qualify for 2002 and I wanted to be at the contest that everyone was going to be competing in.A: Patience. The Olympics are every four years, so patience.
Mercedes participates in the Ski or Ride with an Olympian program, allowing travellers to spend the day learning from elite athletes.A: I would usually say the 2010 Vancouver Games because that’s my best placement [sixth]. But because of a serious crash at the 2014 Games in Sochi that took me out of sport and life for two years, I now say the 2018 Games in Pyeongchang.
