has been organized to help St. Joseph Church Deacon James Puliatte’s family pay for a private air ambulance to transport him to a hospital in the United States after he fell ill while vacationing in Antigua.
“He has been serving at St. Joseph’s Church in Demarest for years now but was assigned to Immaculate Conception Church for most of his tenure,” Pulliatte told NJ Advance. With the fundraising goal at $250,000, Puliatte said the funds will help pay for the private air ambulance that was the only way to get him home, flying out a crew of American doctors, nurses, and respiratory specialists, as well as a hospital stay in Antigua, and expenses for extended hotel accommodations.
