Prosecutors believe there may be additional unidentified victims in the Lakewood, Jackson and Howell Township area.
Authorities are asking anyone who recognizes or may have had contact with Malcolm Hamilton, 26, of Lakewood, to call the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office.A Lakewood man charged with attempting to sexually assault a woman in the laundry room of a Jackson apartment complex in December and a separate stalking case is being investigated as a potential serial attacker, authorities said Thursday.
“Based on our investigation and the evidence we have compiled, we believe there may be additional unidentified victims, particularly in the Lakewood, Jackson and Howell Township area,” Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer said in a statement. The Jackson laundry room attack occurred at 4:50 p.m. on Dec. 29. The woman was taken to Monmouth Medical Center Southern Campus in Lakewood, where she was treated for her injuries and released.
Hamilton was arrested last week on the stalking and burglary charges and the charges in the laundry room attack were added on Tuesday, authorities said.
