The 65-year-old Morris County man was facing two counts of endangering the welfare of a child.
A Morris County man was arrested earlier this month after he was accused of maintaining a child porn file-sharing network from his home, authorities said.
The investigation began when the Hunterdon County Prosecutor’s Office Internet Crimes Against Children Unit identified possible child sexual abuse files on a BitTorrent site in Morris County, according to a statement from the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office, which then became involved with the case.
The site was allegedly run from the home of 65-year-old Washington Township man John Green, where he lives alone, investigators said. A search of Green’s electronic devices revealed more than 1,000 suspected child porn files on his computer, authorities claimed. He was arrested on June 2 and charged with two counts of endangering the welfare of a child, the office said. On June 19, he was ordered to be held in the Morris County Correctional Facility. Attorney information for him was not immediately available.
Anyone with information on the case was encouraged to contact the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force of the Sex Crimes / Child Endangerment Unit of the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office at 973-285-6200.
