A woman seriously injured when her SUV collided with a tractor trailer early Thursday has died, police announced Friday.
Kimberly Cox, 53, of Elmer, was driving north on North Burlington Road in Bridgeton shortly after midnight when her vehicle collided with a tractor trailer pulling onto North Burlington from Indian Avenue, according to Bridgeton Police. Cox was airlifted to Cooper University Hospital with serious injuries and died Thursday afternoon, police reported.
The truck driver, a 35-year-old Clifton resident, was charged Thursday with operating an uninsured motor vehicle, operating an unregistered vehicle, driving with a suspended driver’s license and careless driving.The truck driver could face additional charges once the investigation is complete, police noted Friday.
Traffic on North Burlington has the right of way at the intersection, while drivers on Indian Avenue encounter a stop sign.
