Nadiya Hussein is no stranger to anxiety, having suffered from the condition since childhood, so she's well placed to give us some advice during these strange times.due to the ongoing COVID-19 outbreak, the formerwinner turned celebrity chef and cookbook author has been sharing her top tips for overcoming lockdown anxiety as part of the NHS''For me, reaching out to people, talking to my loved ones, helps manage it,' Hussein explains.
, she admits that suffering from this 'monster' that stops her functioning is 'one of the most lonely, most isolating things to have.''You are your own worst enemy and you live inside your head,' she says. Hussein acknowledged that 'those suffering with anxiety might be feeling it worse than ever' at the moment, and encouraged those currently struggling with their mental health to 'seek out the support [they] need'.Thelaunched this week, featuring a video narrated by the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, where the royal couple encouraged the public to 'look after [their] mental wellbeing at this time'.
The campaign is also backed by NHS psychiatrist, Dr Max Pemberton, who advises that it's completely normal to experience an array of different emotions' right now, acknowledging that 'everyone reacts differently to changes and events going on in their lives.''The most important thing is to have a routine, where you can break up your day into sections, and exercise,' he says.
