Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez reached out to House Speaker Pelosi seeking a meeting amid recent party tensions
WASHINGTON—House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez plan to meet to discuss their icy relationship, a development that comes after the House voted to condemn remarks by President Trump about the freshman Democratic congresswoman and her three closest allies as racist.
Drew Hammill, the speaker’s deputy chief of staff, said Ms. Ocasio-Cortez reached out on Tuesday afternoon to the California Democrat to ask for a meeting and that they are working with Ms. Ocasio-Cortez to schedule the talk.
