Coastal winds could reach more than 40 miles per hour.
With winds expected to pick up off the California coast this Memorial Day Weekend, the National Weather Service has issued an advisory for hazardous marine conditions.
The advisory goes into effect Saturday evening and will run through early next week. Brayden Murdock, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service, told this news organization that hazardous conditions are expected to begin in the outer waters — about 10 nautical miles off the coast — Saturday evening.Gale force winds are expected to produce gusts of over 40 miles per hours as well as 10 to 15 foot waves.
