The victims of Friday's shooting at Naval Air Station Pensacola were identified as Joshua Kaleb Watson, 23; Mohammed Sameh Haitham, 19; and Cameron Scott Walters, 21.

The three young men who were shot dead on Friday morning at Naval Air Station Pensacola were hailed by U.S. Navy leaders as heroes who “didn’t run from danger” when confronted by the assailant but instead “ran towards it and saved lives.”

“When confronted, they didn’t run from danger; they ran towards it and saved lives. If not for their actions, and the actions of the Naval Security Force that were the first responders on the scene, this incident could have been far worse,” Kinsella continued. Story continues“He died a hero and we are beyond proud but there is a hole in our hearts that can never be filled,” Watson wrote.

“His mission was to confront evil,” the elder Watson said. “To bring the fight to them, wherever it took him. He was willing to risk his life for his country. We never thought he would die in Florida.”Haitham’s father told CNN his son was an “all-star athlete” who was “very kind and fun to be around.”
