, retaining features like its rounded ‘shark nose’ front end, slimline LED headlights and A-shaped grille. In fact, the two cars look very similar up to their B-pillars, at which point the #3’s roofline tapers towards the rear wheels – despite the fact the #3 will be larger than the #1.
Smart hasn’t yet confirmed what’ll power the coupe-SUV, but we reckon it’ll ride on Geely’s SEA platform and will be powered by the same rear-mounted 268bhp electric motor as the #1. There’s an upside to the #3 added size, though. Smart might be able to find space in the platform to pack a few more cells into its battery pack, increasing its capacity over the #1’s 66kWh unit and raising its maximum range. For reference, the #1 has an official WLTP range of 273 miles, while the four-wheel drive Brabus variant can drive for up to 248 miles.
