, described as a retail wine shop by day and a speakeasy-style wine bar by night, will open this weekend in the Heights at 3522 White Oak with more than 500 selections and 20 options by the glass.
Owner William Farley, who named the wine shop for his late father, Mike Farley, announced the wine store and bar will begin service on April 12 as a new Heights gathering spot for boutique wine enthusiasts. “The name ‘Padre’s Wine’ honors my father, who friends, family and strangers alike endearingly referred to as “Padre,” Farley stated. “Padre’s Wine is an effort to not only share and teach about good wine but to create a space in the Heights for people to come together as a community, enjoy good wine, taste new things, kick back and relax.”Farley has tapped Nick Nguyen as general manager.
The 4,000-square-foot space, designed by Austin-based Dick Clark + Associates, is filled with natural colors and textures and a Marfa-inspired décor. Half retail and half patio bar, Padre’s also will offer a menu of East Coast oysters, Cake and Bacon bread and butter, meat and cheese selections , and a panini of the day. There’s also a membership club on a monthly or quarterly basis that unlocks special selections and discounts.
Padre’s will be open Sunday through Thursday 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., Friday and Saturday 11 a.m. to midnight.
