Cruise's Stunt Work Makes It Difficult To Continue Mission: Impossible Without Him After Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning Part One, Cruise's next big screen appearance as Ethan is already confirmed for next year. Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning Part Two's release date is set for a summer 2024 release date, effectively continuing its current narrative.
Unlike the Top Gun franchise, which was resurrected via Joseph Kosinski's Top Gun: Maverick, it will be difficult to do Mission: Impossible without Hunt. The 2022 blockbuster effectively set up Pete Mitchell's successors with the introduction of Glen Powell's Hangman and Miles Teller's Rooster. Things are different with Mission: Impossible, however.
