As the ongoing SAG-AFTRA strike passes its tenth week, Shawn Levy took to his Instagram story to share a new photo with Reynolds and Jackman. The image from the Deadpool 3 director, as seen above, features him and his two stars situated in what appears to be Levy's home enjoying a meal together. A caption in the photo itself describes the trio as "three amigos waiting to shoot again...", clearly stating their eagerness to get back to filming the superhero threequel.
How Deadpool 3 Has Been Affected By The WGA And SAG-AFTRA Strikes The Writer's Guild of America first went on strike in May 2023 followed by SAG-AFTRA in July, both of which were calling for fairer pay, better job security in the wake of studio interest in artificial intelligence, and a better system to determine residuals from streaming numbers.
This ultimately proved to only be the start of the movie's roadblocks when SAG-AFTRA went on strike, resulting in a complete stop to Deadpool 3's production. Levy recently revealed that the threequel was halfway through shooting before the shutdown, and reaffirmed the production's goal to be "very much R-rated", keeping the anticipation high among audiences for the character's return and journey to the MCU.
