ATMOSPHERIC RIVER: Here's where and when the latest storm is bringing the heaviest rainfall to Southern California
Yet another atmospheric river is bringing heavy rain and a chance of flooding to Southern California on Tuesday and Wednesday.Moderate rain was already falling in the region from Ventura County to northern Orange County and parts of the Inland Empire by Tuesday morning.
The intensity is expected to remain light-to-moderate during the day, but will pick up by late afternoon. A flood watch is in place for wide swaths of Southern California starting 5 p.m. Tuesday and lasting through 2 p.m. Wednesday. Mountain areas can also expect strong winds during this time. By 9 p.m. Tuesday, intense bands of rain will be over the Ventura and Los Angeles county areas and will continue bringing heavy downpours throughout the evening and into the early morning Wednesday.on Tuesday will see heavy rain, with as much as two and a half inches of rain possible. A high of 62 and a low of 57 is on tap.where two to four inches of rain could arrive Tuesday.will be rainy by the afternoon on Tuesday. Temperatures will reach a high of 59, dropping to 52 at night.
The rainfall should reach its heaviest concentrations by around 2:30 a.m., with intense cells over Ventura and Los Angeles counties, continuing to move south and east.The heavy downpours should taper off just in time for the morning commute in Los Angeles Wednesday.Thursday should be clear and cool, but more rain is on the way after that. Forecast show a chance of light showers again starting Friday and lasting through the weekend.
