Newly appointed UK finance minister, Sajid Javid, offers something to please almost everyone. swahapattanaik

British Prime Minister Boris Johnson on July 24 appointed Sajid Javid as finance minister. Javid, who was most recently the home secretary, is a former banker who left Deutsche Bank in 2009 to enter politics.

The UK's Conservative Party said on July 23 that Johnson had won its leadership election, gaining 66% of the votes cast by Conservative party members.
