The NFL never really stops, so the offseason continued with the draft on Thursday night.The Carolina Panthers selected Alabama's quarterback Bryce Young with the No. 1 overall pick.The New York Jets already took care of their quarterback position before the draft, acquiring veteran Aaron Rodgers from the Green Bay Packers earlier this week in a long-expected blockbuster deal that also has draft implications.
The Jets received Rodgers, the No. 15 overall pick and a fifth-rounder this year from the Packers. In exchange, Green Bay got the 13th overall selection, a second-rounder and a sixth-rounder this year and a conditional 2024 second-round pick that can become a first-rounder if Rodgers plays 65% of plays for New York this season.In addition to the No. 15 overall pick, the Jets will have a second round pick .
Meanwhile, the New York Giants traded up one spot to nab Maryland cornerback Deonte Banks with the 24th overall pick.How long is the NFL Draft?The first round began at 8 p.m. ET on ABC7.
