What's going on with Nibbler's mission?

Nibbler is a minor character in the universe of Futurama, with him merely being the pet of Leela and the Planet Express crew. However, Futurama has unveiled that Nibbler has had a much bigger role throughout the show's 11 seasons, and these Nibbler secrets are still being revealed to this day.
As it turns out, Nibbler's initial mission in Futurama has actually already been fulfilled. One of the Nibblonians' greatest enemies are the Brain Spawn, a species of flying brains that destroy planets. The Nibblonians knew that one day the Brain Spawn would come, so they searched throughout time to find someone who could defeat them. Eventually, the Nibblonians discovered Fry, who they believed could defeat the Brain Spawn once and for all.
The Nibblonians are equipped with all kinds of interesting powers. If the Nibblonians ever need to leave their universe, the creatures are capable of swallowing themselves, escaping for a brief period of time. Nibblonians can also emit various psychic powers from their third eye stalk, with Nibbler showing off his mind-wiping abilities. When it comes to language, the Nibblonians use what is called Alien Language 2, one of the many languages seen throughout the show.
