’s Best Dressed List party, Braun took to the red carpet in a decidedly un-Greg-like ensemble. The actor layered a charcoal-colored turtleneck under a wool sharkskin suit and black Aquatalia boots, looking sleek and positively dapper.
It’s not lost on Braun that “dapper” isn’t exactly a word one would use to describe the ill-fitting suits and separates worn by Greg on-screen. “I feel like I’m used to fabrics that are a little itchy, where the leg is baggier,” he toldcostumes. “So yeah, this suit is way out of Greg’s league. His closet would certainly be upgraded by this,” he said laughing.
When it comes to his off-screen style, Braun—who is 6’5” tall—shared that he looks to fellow actors Adam Driver and Alexander Skarsgård for inspiration. “I like Adam Driver, I like how he dresses. And Alexander Skarsgård too, I love his style,” he said. “I mean, I have to go towards big men for inspiration because I can’t dress in little Italian suits. It’s nice to see big guys who can rock a nice suit. Maybe my turtleneck is a little inspired by that.
While we probably won’t see Braun’s on-screen counterpart rock such pristine tailoring anytime soon , we can certainly look forward to seeing the actor grace more red carpets—perhaps, in the process, becoming a menswear icon in his own right.
