CLEVELAND, Ohio — The Guardians are moving on to face the Yankees in the American League Division Series, but right-handed reliever Nick Sandlin’s 2022 postseason run is over.
Sandlin faced three batters in his postseason debut, issuing a leadoff walk to Ji-Man Choi before striking out Taylor Walls and retiring Manuel Margot on a ground ball to second. He threw 19 pitches, but walked off the mound after getting Margot and was replaced by Eli Morgan.
