Nicole Williams took her passions for modeling and designing to start her own swimwear line, Nia Lynn.
Most people know Nicole Williams as a model, tv personality and influencer, but the entrepreneur has been designing clothes way before her modeling career ever took off. Williams learned how to sew and design clothes from her mother at the age of six. Yes, at the age of six Williams was designing clothes for her Barbie dolls. While designing was one of her first passions, modeling soon came to be a big part of her life which led to giving her the platform she has today.
About two years ago Williams decided she wanted to tap back into her love for designing in an entrepreneurial way by creating her own line named after her mother and niece, . Currently a swimwear line, Williams drew inspiration from her modeling career along with the women in her life from all different backgrounds. Williams shares how she was able to combine her passions of modeling and designing into Nia Lynn.How did you become interested in designing? Why did you decide to launch Nia Lynn with swimwear?My mother is the reason I became interested in fashion. I grew up watching her sew and design anything and everything from my Halloween costumes to doll clothes.
Never listen to people who try to shrink your dreams and goals. You can literally mold your life exactly into the way you want it. Hard work, positive thinking, and self-confidence will go a long way. That's a tough one! I failed a few times with production on my first Nia Lynn Collection. Samples were not right, nothing was fitting at all and I missed the cut off for a summer drop.
