Nigerian court acquits Ibrahim Zakzaky, leader of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria, a banned Shia group, of all eight criminal charges against him, defence and prosecution lawyers say
Ibrahim Zakzaky, has been jailed since 2015 when government forces reportedly killed around 350 people in a storming of its compound and a nearby mosque.
"None of the 15 prosecution witnesses proved they committed the offence," said Sadau Garba after Wednesday's hearing. Justice Gideon Kurada ruled there were no charges to answer and acquitted the pair. Prosecution lawyer Dari Bayero confirmed the ruling. Hundreds killed in 2015 clampdown
