Shaw’s leadership in the Hollywood community goes beyond her legal prowess. In January, she helped found Time’s Up, an initiative backed of 300 prominent women in show business dedicated to fighting systemic sexual harassment in entertainment, as well as blue-collar workplaces.
In January, it launched a legal defense fund that raised more than $21 million in 60 days. She also worked hard for her clients, closing deals for writer/director Ava DuVernay , Oscar-winning actress Lupita Nyong’o and “The Chi” creator Lena Waithe . The New York native also serves as VP of the board of directors for the Independent School Alliance of Minority Affairs.
