As Hurricane Dorian approaches the southeastern United States this weekend, nonprofits of all sizes are already bracing for weeks, months or even years of recovery efforts.

Catastrophic storms are nothing new to the members of Salvation Army Emergency Disaster Services. More than 30 mobile feeding units are on standby to deploy wherever Dorian makes an impact — while the Army continues long-term recovery efforts from hurricanes Irma and Michael .
