That’s what Dumont High School drama teacher and youth theater director Renee Lordi was hoping for when she decided to stage the musical version of the movie “Xanadu,” a 1980 box office bomb starring Olivia Newton-John and Gene Kelly that was resurrected into a more acclaimed Broadway show in 2007.
