The statement from the North Korean foreign ministry followed Pyongyang's launch of two short-range projectiles into the ocean on Thursday.

Doug StanglinThis undated photo provided on Friday, Nov. 29 2019, by the North Korean government, shows what it claims as a test firing of its "super-large" multiple rocket launcher in North Korea. North Korea says the latest test-firing was a final review of the weapon's combat application.

The test had prompted Abe to convene a National Security cabinet meeting in Tokyo to call the move a"grave challenge to the international community," according to the Kyodo news service. It concluded with a blunt warning that the Japanese leader "may see what a real ballistic missile is in the not distant future and under his nose."
