Nov. 2022 Election: No on San Diego Measure C — Raising Coastal Zone height limits [Opinion]

, does nothing but create congestion, crime and more homeless people on the streets and in your neighborhood.

Far worse, citizens would suffer permanent freeway gridlock rivaling the worst of Los Angeles on Interstates 5 and 8. Coast beach access for inlanders, tourists, renters and minorities would be rendered a nightmare. It would take San Diegans hours to commute to work or get Downtown for a night out. In December, a Superior Court judge agreed that the city had failed its due diligence. The city then did a supplemental EIR ahead of Measure C, but in our view ignoring the judge’s order, it performed only a limited review. The new report did not address how many people the city plans to cram into the area, the necessary infrastructure costs and the effect on traffic going to and from the coast and Downtown San Diego. As a result, we have filed a new lawsuit against the city.

Instead, Save Our Access proposes a “veterans sports park” that honors veterans and serves all San Diegans. We can have a regional facility providing sports fields, river restoration for kayaking and bike trails that create inland adventure between our two bays. This plan honors our unique and priceless coastal outdoor lifestyle.

San Diego Padres Ride Darvish and Rare Run Scoring Binge to Win at Coors FieldSan Diego Padres Ride Darvish and Rare Run Scoring Binge to Win at Coors FieldThe Padres are really bad at Coors Field (losers of 14 of their last 16 there). Yu Darvish has been really good pretty much anywhere he takes the mound (undefeated with an ERA of 1.00 in his last four starts). Something had to give on Saturday night in Denver.
