NY Waterway's newest ferry was christened Thursday morning.
NY Waterway’s newest ferry boat, the Franklin D. Roosevelt, already was a celebrity vessel before it was officially christened Thursday morning.that had an engine room fire near Bayonne on Dec. 22. The FDR joined in the response that included FDNY fire boats and tugboats, and 558 passengers were safely moved from the Staten Island Ferry to the FDR.
