Police said officers at the scene asked him to back away “multiple times,” before they tried to take him into custody, which is when the physical altercation started, police said.
The NYPD has kicked off an internal investigation after an officer was recorded punching a man and another was seen kneeling on his neck after police said he choked a sergeant during a violent scuffle in the Bronx last weekend.
The officers had been conducting an investigation when the “uninvolved” 29-year-old man confronted them, police said.
