Police said the man was in a crosswalk in the 2000 block of Telegraph Avenue when he was struck by a vehicle.
OAKLAND — A 91-year-old man died Friday night hours after he was struck by a vehicle while crossing a street in the uptown district of Oakland, police said.
The man’s name has not been released pending notification of family. Police said the man was in a crosswalk in the 2000 block of Telegraph Avenue when he was struck by a vehicle about 7 a.m. Friday. The driver of the vehicle remained on the scene and was cooperating with police. The man was taken to a hospital where he died Friday night.
The collision remains under investigation by police. Anyone with information is asked to call traffic investigators at 510-777-8570.
